| Ezra Cooley and His Trip Across the Country on
Horseback In September a few years ago, I was following the trail of one of my ancestors', John App, as he headed west to California from Illinois for the gold rush in 1850. In western Iowa, as I drove along the Mormon Trail, I passed a man on horseback. Looking like was was on a journey of his own, I decided to turn around and ask where he was going. It was a neat interview with Ezra Cooley, a cowboy from Chico, California who was riding around the world on horseback. What a nice and interesting fellow! |
